Two of the most respected heads of the Norwegian club music scene are playing back to back for the first time at this year’s edition of Oslo’s Oya Festival on Wednesday 8. August. Expect rhythms to float somewhere between disco and house, spicy spanning vocal tracks, sirens, keyboards, Indian sounds and many many more unpredictable tides. From 2005 to 2009, the Mindless Boogie imprint released over 20 vinyls with edits from Todd Terje, In Flagranti, Prins Thomas, and more, and the lovely people over at Smile Recordings will now be giving these edits away as a gift to the masses in upcoming months. The first of these freebies is a masterful Todd Terje edit of one of my favorite oldies of all time — ‘Happy Together’ by The Turtles. Still relevant since it’s initial release in 1967, Todd Terje sticks to the beautiful original while incorporating a bit of his own style in there to make it ready for any pool party.
