Arsenal 'Melvin' (Compuphonic Remix) Tune of the Month on Mixmag
To celebrate it, grab the tack here as free download
This is what the world’s leading electronic music magazine Mixmag has to say about Maxime Firket aka Compuphonic remix of ‘Melvin’ from the Belgian indie band Arsenal : “This is ticking so many boxes my biro has run out of ink. Belgian duo (is there a better kind of duo in dance music?) – check, falsetto vocalist – check, spine tingling chord changes – check, possibility to send you and your chums into a pilly group hug on a dance floor – check mate! Despite it’s terrible name, ‘Melvin’ has the subdued optimism of the sun fighting to shine through patchy cloud. The Jake Shears-like vocal comes courtesy of Shawn Smith of Seattle’s Pigeonhead. If that’s not enough remixes from Bok Bok, Compuphonic and Diskjokke make this a five star review.”
Crystal Fighters are usually known for jumping about claiming how much they love London but this time they have taken a walk down the melancholic pathway for the Compuphonic Remix of ‘Plage’. You may recognize the original version from the Matalan TV advert, but we’re completely in love with this remix. We’re sure you’ll agree it’s got a chilled-out Summer vibe to it, perfect for winding down at the end of a long week. It’s probably one of the smoothest tracks we’ve heard in 2012 – deep, languid house vibes – just amazing.
Find here a sneak peak into his forthcoming release on Moodmusic
We would love to share with you Compuphonic’s latest mix, recorded for the belgian radio PureFM two weeks ago. Pay close attention to it because the fourth track featured in this mix, which is a jam session from 2006 with a Roland 808, 909, 303, a Juno 106 and a Promars, is going to be part of his forthcoming EP on Moodmusic.
Besides, Compuphonic will release two new remixes for the prominent Belgian band Arsenal (along with Diskjokke, Joakim & BokBok remixes), as well as one for dEUS (on Pias). Even, the production of this new album is nearly over and got some positive reactions already. Additional information to follow soon…
