By now I’m sure you are familiar with Oliver, U-tern’s project with fellow head Oliver Goldstein. The two made quite a splash last year, propelling themselves to the forefront of the Nu-Disco/Future Italo movement at a ridiculous rate. Recently, they dropped their highly anticipated EP, Dirty Talk, on Kitsune Records, featuring a pretty slick and smooth edit by Black Van.
Oliver – Dirty Talk – (Black Van Remix) by Black Van
As so often in history the best things happened by lucky accidents: When Holy Ghost! first heard Black Van’s (Kris Menace and Kowesix) single “Yearning“ they noticed that is has the same tempo and key as their song “I Will Come Back“. Two six packs of ale later the first Holy Ghost! Black Van Mash Up was born, with the instrumental of “Yearning“ and the vocals of “I Will Come Back“ on top.
Both, Black Van and Holy Ghost!, were so thrilled by the result, that they planned to work on an original song together. Originally the vocal version of “Moments Of Excellence“ was supposed to come out on the first Black Van EP for Permanent Vacation, but due schedule problems it didn’t happened. It was worth to wait we can tell you: Holy Ghost! not only added their blinding vocal performances to one of the most played disco anthems in recent months, but also chipped in some lovely bits and pieces and additional drums to make this a whole new next level experience.
But wait there is even more: to complete the holy trinity of disco superstars, also Aeroplane stepped in the ring, to reveal one of his finest remix works to date. After Black Van has remixed the Aeroplane single “Without Lies“ Vito is paying things back with turning the original into a blazing, skanking half time monster, whose shiny synths bring you directly to the “neon beach“.
To put cream and cherries on top you can flip the record over to discover a brand new Black Van track. “Express“ is a slow and spicy disco nugget, which proves once again why Black Van is one of the hottest tipped names in the game right now.
